Glow becomes key supplier to VT Group
Glow becomes a key supplier to VT group

Hampshire design and communications agency ‘Glow’ has bucked the economic trend by becoming a leading supplier to defence giant VT Group.

The Wickham creative agency, a finalist in Business Excellence Awards, has won a series of high profile contracts to produce internal and external corporate publications for VT Group. The defence and support services company employs nearly 16,000 people and has a £1.2 billion turnover.

Glow is working with different parts of VT Group, including its Southampton headquarters, to produce high quality newsletters, brochures and tender documents. The publications are being used to engage and inform employees and help secure multi-million pound contracts.

In the latest project, Glow supplied an internal newsletter in record time for VT Group’s HR unit. The Glow team worked against the clock to create a design concept, write the contents, design and layout the pages and print and distribute the newsletter to employees’ homes. Once the concept had been approved, it took just 15 days to go to print.

Matt Clark, VT Group’s Reward Specialist, said: “The overall content and style is really effective and just what we are looking for. We're really pleased with the end result.”

Lisa Lavis, Managing Director of Glow, who project managed the newsletter, said: “Corporate newsletters of this scale can take months to pull together, especially when a totally new concept is required, but because the VT Group deadline was very tight we pulled out all the stops, working throughout the weekend to deliver on time. In fact, we were one day ahead of schedule. Glow thrives on projects of this type and working with the VT team made it much easier. They were quick to respond and supply information which helped us deliver a quality product on time.”

glow leads by design
Award-winning creative agency ‘glow’ is going from strength to strength after repositioning as a design and communications specialist.

The Fareham agency, formerly known as ‘glow marketing’, creates powerful branding, internal and external communications for some of the world’s leading organisations.

The agency recently became a key supplier to the VT Group, the global defence and support services company based in Southampton, and ONET Technologies, the French nuclear and engineering giant which bought Gravatom in Bishops Waltham last month (December 2008).

Managing Director Lisa Lavis, highly commended in the Business Personality of the Year category in The News’ Business Excellence Awards, said: “glow has grown consistently over the last nine years. “glow is known for world class branding, design and business writing services. The difference is our approach. We combine inspirational design and intelligent copywriting with the highest levels of project management to achieve our clients’ objectives with finesse. We are large enough to meet the exacting standards of global organisations yet small enough to offer a friendly, adaptable, hands on service. Our unique blend of experience, skills and enthusiasm enables us to produce outstanding results for clients in a wide range of sectors including education, engineering, food and drink, technology and tourism.”

glow was formed in 2000 by four entrepreneurs with a vision: to be an award-winning creative agency renowned for truly exceptional levels of client and team satisfaction. The agency has grown organically year on year into a dynamic, profitable business. glow also operates a copywriting division in London called The Writing Room, which was recently shortlisted for Best New Enterprise. The Writing Room’s clients include housing specialist The Radian Group, disability services provider 3D Change and international yacht brokerage Hyde Yachts.

“This is an exciting time for glow,” Lisa Lavis added. “We have a great creative team and we are doing what we love and what we do best, which is making our clients stand out head and shoulders above the competition.”
