The Writing Room raises disability awareness
Croydon copywriting agency The Writing Room is working with disability training provider 3D Change to promote diversity in the workplace.

The copywriting agency has been contracted to produce online and printed literature to raise awareness of disability issues across Croydon and other London boroughs.

The copy includes a website, CD booklet and brochure inserts. It forms part of a campaign by 3D Change to help disabled people gain access to services and employment while helping organisations to work towards compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act.

Ian Lavis, director of The Writing Room, said: “We are delighted to be working with 3D Change. It provides the opportunity to not only promote the valuable training and support that 3D Change provides, but also to encourage organisations in Croydon and other London boroughs to make a real difference in their local communities.”

Commenting on The Writing Room’s copy to date, Farnaz Khan, of 3D Change, said: “The Writing Room are a pleasure to work with. The copy was very cleverly written to meet our objectives, and we were delighted with the results. They took the time to fully understand our needs initially, and ensured the smooth handling of the project so that it required minimal effort from us. Furthermore, all projects met our very tight deadlines!”

Based in Addiscombe, The Writing Room is a division of creative agency glow marketing, which provides marketing strategy, design and web services to organisations in London and the South East.

3D Change, a Community Interest Company based in central Croydon, has announced it plans to work with The Writing Room on further marketing material to help disabled people gain access to services and employment.

The Writing Room wins housing association tender
Croydon copywriting agency The Writing Room has won a major new contract with charitable housing association Drum Housing, based in Petersfield.

The copywriting agency will provide engaging and informative copy for Drum’s award-winning sustainability brochure. The document provides a reader-friendly guide on how the association is working with local communities to reduce its eco-footprint.

Ian Lavis, director of The Writing Room, said: “Drum has received a great deal of praise for its commitment to sustainability. We aim to raise its profile further with concise and powerfully written copy. Our contract with Drum is especially exciting as we will be working hand in hand with Hampshire design agency Red207. We expect this to be the start of a long and prosperous relationship.”

Drum, part of the Radian Group, provides high quality, affordable homes to people in housing need. It is widely regarded as a leader in sustainability both in its sector and regionally.

Samantha Knight, account manager at The Writing Room, said: “Drum housing’s strategy is based on an approach that balances the environmental, social and economic factors of sustainability so that the benefits, resources and opportunities are shared fairly between current and future generations. This is a subject close to our hearts as our parent company, glow marketing, is currently developing its own sustainability division.”
